Enjoying garden chores between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., I saw three monarchs heading SW. Monarch 1 floated right over my Mexican Sunflowers without stopping causing me to rename them Shunflowers. Monarch 2 sailed overhead as high as the treetops. Monarch 3 stopped briefly on three sunflowers. Because she fanned her wings so much to scare away the many bees, it was easy to determine gender and health. She was large and healthy (full-formed abdomen). Warmth, sun, light breeze, and monarchs made the day perfect.
