Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/26/2015

Number: 1

I observed one Ruby Throat, a juvenile fluttering between my 15 feeders this afternoon. It was also enjoying playing in the bath and mist from the fountains around 4PM. I am keeping my feeders clean and full and will continue to do so as long as I read of other sightings in more northern staes potentially heading in my direction. I so miss my regulars and hope I get to see several more travelers migrating south. In the past couple of weeks I often think I hear more little guys in the trees but I have just seen one the past few days as I have reported. I think this may be the same little one for the past few days. It was drinking lots of nectar today and grooming its feathers. The temps have increased a few degrees at night this week so hopefully the sweet little thing can put on some more weight before the rest of its journey. I am sure going to miss these beautiful creatures. I am praying these little guys make it to their destinations.
