Saw a total of about 12 to 15 monarchs throughout the day today. At about 11 am, two monarchs were nectaring on the butterfly bush in our front yard - took photo below through the window so it's not great. Every half-hour after that we saw at least one more make a stop at that bush until mid-afternoon. We don't think they were the same butterflies since they appeared to only stop for a short time before flying off in a southerly direction, and they were a mix of males and females. We also saw about 6 monarchs at a local plant nursery during a quick visit later in the afternoon to buy more A. tuberosa milkweed. The monarchs there were swarming the butterfly bushes for sale in the open air pavilion. Beautiful!
