We were vacationing at our OBX beach house last week. I sighted one monarch valiantly flying in high winds across our yard to the sandy beach and thence I suppose southward for the migration.

The week before I saw one monarch as well, but I don't remember the date.

(Looking at the sightings map, I notice there are no Monarch reports from North Carolina which surprises me.)
