Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 09/26/2015

Number: 2

My husband saw 2 Hummingbirds feeding fast & furious over our flowers. They were only staying at one flower for a second then moving on. Their flying pattern was to hit their favorite flowers & then disappear over the top of our house to the front yard then return a few mins, later repeat with our flowers & then go to our neighbors. Very fast back & forth. They had been hovering b4 & now they seem to just go threw their favorite flowers very fast and then gone. I have never seen them in our 3 yrs. herein Tx behave this way. Note: This activity was not the normal for the 2 we have had left. So with the cooler weather drop of 15-20 degrees in the past 2 wks. this could have signaled a change of behavior. We are not sure if they are the same 2 from this summer of if they are 2 that just stopped by for a refueling b4 moving on. I took all the feeders down except the one at kitchen window so I could tell if they were still present. They do not seem to be interested in chasing each other but more interested in eating to where they will even share the feeder.Due to cataracts on my eyes I cannot see them at the flowers or follow them when they are moving that fast. I do see them at the feeder at 2 pm and from 6pm to 7:45pm before dark.
