Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/28/2015

Number: 100

The number of migrating monarch butterflies seen in Cape May Point has been relatively low for the last week, as we have been mired in a long spell of Northeasterly winds. Heavy rains are predicted for the next few days, so we don't expect monarch numbers to increase significantly until next week. Follow the work of the CMBO Monarch Monitoring Project in Cape May on our blog, http://capemaymonarchs.blogspot.com, and see weekly result of our monarch census on our website data page: http://www.monarchmonitoringproject.com/mmptwo.html.
