i put up 3 feeders 3 weeks ago because I just moved from Athens, GA. I had 3 hummingbirds immediately. they have stayed since then. they sit on the shepherd's hooks , drink at the feeders and try to chase each other away. sometimes then sit on the fence behind the feeders guarding or in plants at the fence and in the willow trees. 2 weeks ago ,on a weekend, there were about 20 one day at one time swarming and drinking. They left and I have not seen any more except these 3 who do not seem to want to leave.
