Many monarchs flying over. Significant # roosting. Activity has been increasing for several days. Observed 10+ and possibly many more roosting in lacebark elm tree. Very few roosting in adjacent Shumard oak tree. We could not get close as they take off with our approach.

Have not seen this number in previous years.
