On SE shore of Barr Lake State Park. Two butterflies resting on sunflower stalks (not on dried flowers), which gave them partial shade. Picture (11:03 am) is looking up underneath plant. Approximately 12:30pm, I stopped again and saw them gently fluttering around the same sunflowers, as well as resting. One butterfly was a female. Flies and wasps were buzzing around the monarchs. Hot day about 88-90 degrees.
