At noon a monarch flew over my house. I awoke to 44.9f in this Minneapolis suburb so this monarch better high tail it out of here. I plan to keep my Mexican Sunflowers going as long as possible and have a Plan B: a pot of them that I can move inside and a small stand in a protected area. Last year, I found a monarch on the ground in my yard around Halloween. She was cold and exhausted but had no wear and tear. Inside, I fed her sugar water from a spoon and she perked up enough to fly away but :(...
