One male monarch was flitting about on a shady hillside that faced north around 5 p.m. He was in good condition and had a scent patch on his wings so I identified him as a male. This was along an uphill paved bike path in IGH that connects to the Pine Bend SNA. He appeared to be nectering on a purple aster, and then moved onto a white aster, and then quickly moved down the path to a different purple aster. There was a lot of goldenrod around too, but he didn't seem interested in the goldenrod.
