Male Monarch found along road 9/25 with right forewing missing. Successful wing transplant 9/26. Rested, recovered, exercised wings 9/27; test flights 9/28; left on migration 9/29 approx. 3:30 p.m. in light rain, 70 degrees F, from latitude 41.35, longitude -76.90. Fed on fruit and sugar water 9/26, 27, 28, 29. Headed due south, from elevation approx. 700 ft. above sea level, straight up into forest covering ridge with elevation 1900 ft. at top. If anyone spots Monarch with tiny duct-tape and super-glue hinge at right shoulder, please report.
