1 female ruby throat on nectar feeder and another female/immature feeding on salvias around 6:50 this morning.
Had frost in our area over night. Female on feeder was all puffed out against the cold. She would alternate going to 2 nearby feeders and perch in lilac tree in between. This is a nice surprise that 3 were still here yesterday and that we got to see 2 this morning. Had expected all hummers to be gone sometime last weekend. This is second time in 3 years we've had a sighting in October. We'll see if these little zippers leave for points south today. They will be missed when they leave.
