Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/02/2015

Number: 1

Lone mature female. Cold can tell by fluffed up appearance. Sitting on feeder in rain, though in windshadow of out building. Added high sugar feeder in cherry sapling downwind about 15 feet to offer alternative cover. Not part of local group as she moves off when I open the door 20' away. She takes refuge in rose bush or fence top 30' away until she feels safe. She then returns to feeder. (Feeder had been inactive for three weeks until she showed up. Ants and bees had overtaken feeder until cold and rain set in.)
