Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/02/2015

Number: 2

The two females that have been coming to our feeders regularly are still coming daily in spite of the the low 50 deg. temps and horrible windy & rainy conditions. For the past couple of weeks, every day we expect for them to have begun their southern migration before we wake up in the a.m. But 'lo and behold, they just haven't gone yet! Today, both little gems sat and sat for long periods, sipping and sipping nectar. They also have begun looking somewhat 'porky', which tells us they're getting ready to go. We call it 'topping off their tanks'. Oh, will we miss them when they're gone.
