Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Baltimore Cnty, MD is in NE corner of cnty and state. Feeder is real sugar water, no dyes, hangs on short flag pole, with stream and lush tree line-and thick brush that runs a 1/2 mile. HBirds love the shorter tress just 20 yards away from feeder. I refilled the feeder on Sep 28, it was completely empty. Came home 9/29, noticeable drop in nectar levels and each day the same. Oct1, significant rains all week, with cold front lunging down on us, 10/1, a few hours before sunset, I saw one lone bird feeding-it even "attacked" a fake Hummingbird Light I have-its a clear plastic one--I saw him lunge at it-its on a flexible stick that allows it to wave in the wind- it was hilarious and cool to see. 10/2, another reduction in levels, not sure of still here-windy and rainy. Enjoy the post. Picture is from Summer 2013-Same location same feeder. Thx, Tom
