Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/04/2015

Number: 1

I still have one RT juvenile. Every day I have been waking up thinking today it will be gone but once again the little angel stayed all day drinking every few minutes from my feeders. I had two RT's here the last few days and as I reported previously one left yesterday and I am so surprised this one is still here. It was really skinny but it has put on quite a bit of weight. It hung in there the last few days with pouring rain and lows in the upper 50's F. Today the rain stopped and the high was 80F. I cleaned my feeders and went from 15 to 12 feeders. I made the sugar water a bit more concentrated to give this one and any others that stop over some extra energy. I sure hope this little angel gets its full and hurrys on down South before cold weather hits. I am reading posts from those of you North of me and will keep putting out nectar as long as I see more are heading my way. I am really perplexed as to why this one is not leaving. I do not remember any staying this late in previous years and i have been feeding hummers for a while now.
