Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/04/2015

Number: 101

High #s of monarchs observed at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge in North Texas (Sherman area) on Sunday 10/4. Weather was clear, mild, in the 70s, Sunday, with a very light breeze from the North. I observed from mid day until later in the afternoon. All monarchs were observed on or near Buttonbush and most of the observed monarchs were nectaring from these plants. Hagerman has dozens of Buttonbushes and the monarchs were on them in high #s Sunday. Also about 200 migrating pelicans were seen on the water at Hagerman NWR on Sunday :) A great day for migratory observations!
