Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 10/04/2015

Number: 119

On a beautiful sunny day after five days of rain the temps were 60 degrees with a moderate north east wind I spotted 119 monarchs during 5 hours. The golden rod was in abundance with the monarchs intensely feeding. Around 4 pm the monarchs took to their roosts, with 3-4 the average size roosts. They positioned themselves on the sunny side (west) on the pine trees.
