Not sure if you call this a "Migration Sighting". I found one female monarch sitting on some grasses about 8 inches off the ground, a couple of feet from some swamp milkweed, in the early to mid-afternoon. Her behavior was much like newly eclosed monarchs I had raised and released earlier. She readily crawled onto my finger and stayed there as I walked from the back to the front of the property. She finally fluttered off, rather feebly. She wasn't tagged, so wasn't one I had released earlier. My last captive monarch of the season eclosed Sept. 29th, and I hadn't seen a monarch since then up until the one I am now reporting.
