Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/07/2015

Number: 1

Migration through this area is about 2 weeks late. We had cool temps, rain and northeasterly winds the past three days. Today it was sunny, calm and warmer. I was out monitoring the blooming rabbit brush/chamisa in the area and found one fresh-looking monarch. I'm hoping that this indicates some monarchs will be able to move through. I've been tagging for Southwest Monarch Study the past month. This is my first report to Journey North. I've tagged 12 monarchs here and noted several larva in mid September.
