Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/26/2015

Number: 1

I was pleasantly shocked to find a 5th instar Monarch caterpillar crawling on my Butterfly weed near our mail box. It was also rather odd that my butterfly weed was mostly intact (as I inspected it often looking for eggs) and my common milkweed had mostly deteriorated. What made it extra special was the fact that my dearest childhood best friend came to visit to help count and tag Monarchs for the migration but it rained every day she was here. I was thrilled she was able to see it J and turn into a chrysalis.
