Thanks to the Journey North staff for the Red Emperor Tulip bulbs. We had fun planting the tulips. We planted them at these places: Shageluk Airport, Shageluk Lake, Joyanne Hamilton's garden, the Innoko River School garden, and the Shageluk Burn Site. We have had a very late freeze-up this year. We've had several days of -2*C temps a couple of weeks ago but nothing below freezing since. This is HIGHLY unseasonable for our area. We can't wait to see what they'll look like next year or which ones will come in first. These are our predictions:
We think the tulips at the runway will come up first because we planted them first and they will receive more sunlight first (unless the Wood Bison dig them up).
