Hello friends! Our butterfly is from Normandy Elementary School (K-2) in Bay Village, OH. Since I work in the library and don't have one "class" of my own, some of our small butterflies (to share) were made by 1st graders in Mrs. Ayers' Class who had extra time while classmates were checking out books and the others were made by Brownie Scouts in Troop #70002. It is my hobby to raise and tag monarch butterflies and the students have watched all the stages of metamorphosis, tagging and releasing. I put pictures I took of each stage on our butterfly because Estella Romero wanted us to show Mexican students "what we see". I also added a picture of a roost of about 4,000 that I photographed at Wendy Park in Cleveland, OH this year. It was the most I have ever seen! I added a real tag to the large butterfly just for fun! The very colorful mural was painted in our main hallway last year and represents many aspects of our school.
