Tagging has slowed down as expected at Rosetta McClain in the last 2 weeks. Still getting a few on sunny/warm days. About 320 tagged so far. The 2015 RMG hawk watch count for monarchs is 3997 so closing in on 4000. A little behind last year. Monarch migration is definitely earlier this year as we counted 148 in August vs 0 last year. Monarchs are outnumbering raptors YTD, but more data to come once all is done. Attached photo is of myself tagging a female 10/8/2015 Thursday as Dr Bruce Falls and Dr Fred Cooke watch. Two of Canada's greatest Ornithologists!
