Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/10/2015

Number: 12

In the past week, we've seen only 10-20 Monarch butterflies daily. They are nectaring on Greg's Blue Mist, Frost weed and Zinnias. Last year at this time, we saw 150-250 nectaring. This fall we've seen a mating pair, six 3-4 instar cats, one fifth instar and two crysallids. I am hoping, from what I've seen on this site, that many Monarchs are travelling on a course 100-200 miles west of the DFW area. Or, perhaps the warm temperatures in the north have delayed them. We shall soon see. Hoping for the best in Plano, TX.
