Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 10/11/2015

Number: 1

The last remaining chrysalis in my yard hatched this morning (10/11). I had moved it indoors lastweek, thinkin it was probably dead since it had been hanging for 18 days. And this morning, after a total of 23 days in the chrysalis, it hatched into a very bright Monarch. After the sun reached the flowers, I moved it outside to harden/stretch in the sun and a few hours later is was busy nectaring of the remaining flowers. This seems very late, but the whole monarch season in Bismarck has seemed later. I think daylight and temperature have a great deal to do with the development of the Monarch. Until next spring---
