Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/12/2015

Number: 2

This Monarch was the biggest one I've ever seen. It's wings spanned to 4-4.5 inches when fully spread. He was magnificent. I had only seen one Monarch on MY butterfly bush all summer. It was him. He ate for about 15 minutes and took off.

The other one (1) I saw was down at the ocean in Westhampton Beach as well. It was traveling Westerly, looking for some last morsels of food I guess. But, also, it would have to travel westerly to get to the mainland to catch a wind to go south. He couldn't travel over the ocean. (We live on the eastern part of long island in New York).
