These beauties graced us with their presence and spent the night in an elm tree in our yard.
I first noticed them about 6:30pm. Overnight temp was 43F. The wind blew most of the day at about 20 mph +/- out of the NE, and they actually landed on the west side of the tree. The wind had mostly stopped completely by the time we noticed them.
October 14
They were roosting in the same tree again last night (Oct. 13) and had almost twice as many (1000). Today (10/14) they don't seem like they are in as much of a hurry to leave.
