As I cut milkweed to feed the monarch caterpillars I previously collected, I found an early 4th instar on Common milkweed in my front yard [Monarch Waystation #271] and brought it in the join the rest. Found another early 5th instar on tropical milkweed, then later found more: 7 5th instars on tropical milkweed, 2 4th instars on common milkweed and 1 5th instar on purple milkweed. An even dozen!
