Now that I have a key to the instars handy, I can report larval ages. Here at Monarch Waystation #299 [Virginia Living Museum] 1 larva 3rd instar about to molt to 4th was found near the plastic greenhouse on common milkweed, and 1 5th instar was found on common milkweed near the Wason Education Center Staff entrance. Later at 3:30 pm, found another 5th instar larva on the same milkweeds mentioned above next to the staff entrance. All were taken in to rear for later tagging and release.
