There were 2 monarchs in the garden on this beautiful sunny morning, nectaring on the still-blooming tithonia. Unfortunately, we are going to have widespread frost for the next 2 nights. I am going to cover the mexican sunflower and hope it doesn't freeze. We still have some verbena bonariensis and a large field of clover blooming, too. Next week looks a little warmer. I have been seeing a few monarchs flying through here the past few days. I wonder what the chances are that they could complete their migration, especially with nectar sources becoming more limited.
