Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/17/2015

Number: 3

After 30 minutes of observation, only three Monarchs were sighted. This seems to be a much lower number of sightings than on this date in previous years. The butterflies stop to nectar on zinnias then continue flying south. This seems to be a much lower number of sightings than on this date in previous years. I think they are all being blown further west than usual. Winds have been consistently from the East/Northeast and it has been record breaking temps in the mid-90's.
