Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/16/2015

Number: 1

Was amazed to see this little one. I startled it from its resting place on the south side of our cedar hedge adjacent to County Road 46. It flew south across the road and over a fence to a commercial property where I lost sight of it. Not sure if it was nectaring or not as I don't cut this area and we have New England Asters and a few other wildflowers still in bloom there. It was about 12:50PM, temperature about 13C, partly cloudy with a strong wind from the south. Frost and freezing temperatures forecast for Friday and Saturday nights so I hope it survives. (The little description is actual, I wan't able to sex it as it was flapping rapidly fighting the wind)
