Tulips PLANTED
Sightings report image

Date: 10/15/2015

Number: 1

It was a sunny, but cool morning with a temperature of 4C, but it felt like -1C when we set out to plant our tulip bulbs. Up until then we were having some nice warm fall days. Our two Grade 2 classes and one Grade 3 class planted 49 Red Emperor Tulips. Before we planted we checked to make sure it was a good site and that our bulbs were Red Emperor. We made sure that the tip was pointing up, so that it would grow right. When we put them in the ground we made sure they were not stuck together so we left a space between each one. After they were all in the ground we covered them up with soil. In the soil we saw some worms and ants and some other bugs. Now we have to wait for them to grow. We are not sure when that will be, but we did have some snow on the weekend, so we could be in for another long winter! We will compare our garden with our friends in Dallas, Texas and with other gardens around the world that are on the map.
