This is the first year that I knew what the egg looked like. I had seen an adult butterfly that same week, but I have not found eggs or seen a Monarch this early in the year. I was actually pulling out 'extra' milkweed and decided to check for eggs. Wahla! Found one...and upon further inspection...found 11 more that day.
