Bald Eagle

Date: 10/21/2015

Number: 1

This morning I saw what appeared to be an adult bald eagle swooping through the trees near 70th street. Long white tail feathers and massive blackish brown wings flashed by in the yellow autumn leaves. The tall trees obscured the rest of the eagle and it was gone in a flash. Last winter we had a bald eagle who would stalk the neighborhood and perch in a tall spruce tree. We had a lot of rabbits earlier this spring and summer, but I haven't seen a rabbit in weeks. We have many squirrels, so perhaps the eagle was looking for breakfast.
