So excited to have been seeing a hummingbird this late in the season. I have never seen any past October 9, and that was in 2008. I saw the female on October 21 and 22; did not see her yesterday, but didn't really have the observation time. However, I'm sure she was here. She has only been sighted at a feeder on the north side of the house. There is no doubt, that she has been to the others. The migration maps at this sight are very helpful. As long as I see sightings in other areas north of my location, I leave my feeders out, for the birds that may pass through. It may possibly be near Thanksgiving. Frost has killed many nectar flowers in the area, so feeders are still an option in my habitat.
