On Friday the 23rd, I found a Monarch chrysalis hanging on a lantana plant, next to the Mexican Milkweed in my butterfly garden. We were expecting large amounts of rain on the next day, so I brought the branch indoors. It's a good thing I did, because we received about 9" of heavy rain. Our home was surrounded by water, like an island. During the night, the adult emerged. I released it on Sunday. There I spotted another monarch that must have made it through the storm somehow!
