Spotted this straggler one full week AFTER I thought I saw my last monarchs of the year on 10/15/15! And 19 days later than last year's final fall sighting at the same place. Didn't land long enough for me to try for its gender, but long enough to see that its coloring was dull. I watched it flit around a bit. I turned my head for a moment to look and see if there was anything around for it to nectar from and it was gone.
