On this rainy day, in the 60s, found 5 5th instar monarch caterpillars on the Tropical Milkweeds in the center bed of the Children's Learning Garden at the Virginia Living Museum [AKA monarch Waystation #299]. They all look very close to going on "walkabout" to find a place to pupate. Will take them in to rear, tag and release later.
