An immature bald eagle was spotted off and on for about five days on the bluffs between San Pedro and Rancho Palos Verdes, directly across the channel from Catalina Island. It interacted with our many ravens. The first day it was spotted, I was able to approach it within 15 feet and it never moved. My dog and I spoke quietly to it and a number of residents in our mobil home park on the bluffs observed it later that morning. i wasn't positive until I got home…the all dark chocolate coloring puzzled me as I know they usually have white heads.
