One lone monarch flying about 5 feet above the ground, heading southwest about noon. Temp 55, wind northwest at 15 mph. I was eating lunch at the Piatt County airport, watching other butterflies, mainly sulphurs, feeding on dandelions, when this monarch came by right in front of me. I couldn't believe it, so late in the season. Frost this morning, but we haven't yet had a hard freeze, which is very unusual. Bon voyage, little one!
