Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 11/09/2015

Number: 13

We made one trip across the Lavaca Bay Causeway
and peninsula just after noon Sunday and counted
13 Monarchs in forty minutes ... three were crossing
the causeway, stroking hard to SW, noses to west, some
of the others were moving along peninsula to SW, but
many of the rest were just trying to stay out of the wind.
There is NOTHING for them to nectar on but there are the
tall grasses and brush along the peninsula to shelter them.

Big front came thru Fri night/Sat morn (11/6-7) with strong winds
all day Saturday out of the NW, 25 mph, gusting to 35 mph,
quarter inch of rain here. Got cool, 60's Sat near
50 low Sun, did get to 74 today with light S wind, clear.
Rain possible Wed and the weekend again when fronts
come in from the NW with more wind ... must be fall.
