Signs of Fall

Date: 11/20/2015

Number: 1

The trees have shed most of their leaves and the flowers - even the hardy ones- have ceased blooming. We have heavy frost most nights, though we are not having much snow yet. We've had two small snow showers in the last month, which melted within days.
I see more birds at my feeders now - chickadees, sparrows, nuthatches, woodpeckers, bluejays - eating the seed and suet, several times a day. The jays and magpies make short work of the peanuts in the shell that I put out for them.
