Fall is nearer to winter now. With colder weather and some good fall storms, the leaves are now completely off the deciduous trees. Late blooming flowers that had withstood quite a few hard frosts have now succumbed to late fall. Small bodies of water have either frozen over or have ice at the edge in shallower areas. A cm. or so of snow is on the ground, but it will disappear with our next Chinook wind. My pond has frozen over,as well as my fountain and I had to pull the pumps a few days ago. Migrating birds are more of a challenge to find.
