Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 11/25/2015

Number: 1

I can't believe I still am seeing monarchs this late.
A nice,fresh looking male,along with a sulfur,buckeye, appeared in my garden today.
they fed on what's left of the zinnias & Mexican sunflowers & a few white aster blooms.
I haven't reported as often usual, I have been busy planting milkweed/nectar plants at Black Bayou NWR.
They have had sightings of a few monarchs until the second week of November.
At my home,I have seen between an average of 1-3 monarchs a day in November.
This is the latest I have ever reported monarchs.
We did have a light freeze 3 nights ago, temps are warming back up to 70 & lows in the mid 50's.Rain will be here tomorrow night.
Living on a lake we stay a bit warmer, hard freezes don't come until later in the year,my guess anyways.
