Tulips PLANTED
Sightings report image

Date: 11/17/2015

Number: 1

On Tuesday, November 17, 2015, we planted Red Emperor tulip bulbs in Charlottesville, Virginia. We go to Venable Elementary School. We are the awesome fourth graders of Team Jacobs. The weather was about 60 degrees Fahrenheit. It was partly cloudy outside.
We planted our bulbs in raised beds by the school playground. The beds were located under several trees, but get partial sunlight. Before planting, we had to loosen the soil. The soil was very tough because it had a lot of roots in it and was very compacted. This made it very difficult to dig seven inches deep. We used trowels, hoes, and shovels to help us.
