Adult Female Rufous Hummingbird
Nutmeg didn't arrive until 7:30 this morning. The temperature was 46°. She took a very short drink; hardly any at all. At 7:33 when the crows arrived, Nutmeg took a longer drink. The Blue Jays arrived at 7:49 and a flock of smaller birds arrived at 7:50, when Nutmeg took a long drink, even perching. At 8:58 she took a very, very, long drink and was perched. It was the longest drink I've ever seen her take. There is a steady rain again, like yesterday. I was not home to observe her for the rest of the day.
