Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 12/06/2015

Number: 1

One lone Monarch. We haven't had many butterflies the last couple of years, but not exactly sure why. Do know that some willow trees nearby were cut down. Earlier this year, I planted what I thought was butterfly milkweed (asclepias tuberosa), but turns out it is asclepias curassavica (tropical milkweed)... mislabeled at plant nursery. The milkweed has spread throughout the flower beds, so maybe this is why I have finally seen a Monarch again.
